In 2012, we (Scott McCalla and JT Henley) came to a realization. It wasn't the fact we love food - we've known that for a long time. It was not the fact that we love hot sauce - that was a given. The realization was simply that most hot sauces on the market typically fall into two categories - either extremely hot novelty sauces, or the same old store brands that make everything hotter, but don't bring a lot of flavor to the party.
Let's think about this a little. Do you put sauce on food just to make it so unbearably hot that it's not enjoyable or delicious to eat? Most of us have been there - we dip a chicken wing or a vegetable into sauce, and then get the unexpected burn of a sauce that is way too hot. Or someone says, "Try this" and you do, and you regret it for the next 10 minutes as you are crying your eyes out and looking for something - anything - to make the pain go away. We believe that if you are going to put it on food, it better not burn you out.
And what about store brands that we all know? Well, we've tried them. They deliver some heat - sometimes a whole bucket-load of heat - but flavor? We don't think so - not so much. Hey, we ate these for years, and frankly they became a bit stale. I bet you probably have an open, 1/2 used bottle of a store-bought sauce in your fridge or kitchen cupboard. How old is it? How often do you use it? Well, if it is fresh and you use it every day, we have something to compare it to. If you haven't used it in awhile, it may be time to toss it out and try something you'll want to use all the time.
Well, with a lot of work, some trial-and-error, and our own funds, SaucyVT was born to fill the need for a sauce that delivers the heat and also the flavor! What a concept!! A sauce you can use every day, on just about everything, and it tastes really good without burning you out! Awesome!!!
SaucyVT Sauces can be used in a multitude of ways. It is ideal for adding a little zing to your chili, soups, & stews. For a great wake-me-up, add it to your scrambled eggs. It is also fabulous as a marinade or dipping sauce for chicken, pork, fish, shrimp, & beef. It's almost grilling season, so don't forget that you can mix it with your ground beef for a really kicking burger, or add it to sour cream or cream cheese to spice up your party dip. The uses for SaucyVT Sauces are only limited by your imagination!
We started our business in Rutland, Vermont. We keep it small, we use only Vermont pure maple syrup (the good stuff!) and try very hard to source our ingredients locally if/when we can. We make small batches by hand, insuring the highest quality and consistency from batch to batch. We only make what we think we can sell as quickly as we can, so the product is fresh when it is available to you. You won't find it everywhere, but we do sell in a few choice locations, and of course, on our website! We love the sauces, we use them all the time, and we hope you do too!

SaucyVT Voodoo Original
SaucyVT Voodoo Original Sauce is a unique blend of aged peppers, fresh garlic, and our own secret blend of spices. Voodoo Original is more than just heat. With its blend of ingredients, Voodoo Original adds a depth to all of your dishes. Bringing out the flavor of the food without overpowering it. And yes, it is spicy! But not too spicy for most palates. We consider it a "medium heat", so most people will probably find it to be delicious but not too spicy.
SaucyVT Voodoo Fireball
SaucyVT Voodoo Fireball is the newest of the sauces. We developed this sauce because there are folks that liked the Voodoo Original, but said they didn't think it was hot enough. And we understand - Voodoo Original is a medium-heat sauce. So we went back to the kitchen and made Voodoo Fireball! We call it Fireball because it is another step hotter, plus has a lot of smokey notes to it. It is great for everything you would expect - meat, eggs, sauces, vegetables, you name it, you should try it. And again, it's probably not the hottest sauce you've ever had, but it has a really good kick to it. SaucyVT is all about heating you up and making your food taste good, without burning you down.
SaucyVT Voodoo Maple
SaucyVT Voodoo Maple starts with the same blend of aged peppers, fresh garlic and our own secret blend of spice. In addition, we add Vermont maple syrup to the mix, and blending it well so you get both the sweet and the heat. The maple shines, and you get a sauce that is mild-to-medium heat that most people will find to be spicy but not too spicy. Voodoo Maple sauce are great not only for dipping but also to brush on seafood, chicken, pork and more.
SaucyVT Voodoo Honey
We also have SaucyVT Voodoo Honey is a blend of Voodoo Original and real honey, which makes a nice, sweet and spicy blend, that is great on chicken, seafood, and has many other uses. A favorite use of Voodoo Honey is to use it as the sauce on pizza. It is a mild-to-medium heat, similar to the Voodoo Maple, but has that distinctive sweet honey taste. Try it on all of your favorite foods.
